About the Show

For the first time ever, Jumalīte is taking the stage on its own! While we’ve had the honor of performing at over a dozen events in our short four-year history, this is our first full-length Latvian folk dance concert—and we want you to be part of it! Embark on a journey with "Woven in Silver," a captivating performance by the New York Latvian folk dance group, Jumalīte. This unique show intertwines traditional Latvian dance, music, and storytelling, offering a vibrant tapestry of cultural heritage and contemporary artistry.

Join us in celebrating the beauty of Latvian culture through the universal language of dance.

Join us on June 7 at El Museo del Barrio (104th & 5th in Manhattan) for an unforgettable evening of rhythm, energy, and tradition. Our program features 13 captivating dances, including "Trejdeksnietis"—a piece that holds special meaning for New York’s Latvian dance community. Once performed by the beloved folk dance group Trejdeksnis, this dance is sure to bring back fond memories for those who have danced before and inspire those experiencing it for the first time. Come celebrate with us, support our growing dance family, and relive the joy of Latvian folk dance in New York City!

I climbed the hill to gaze below,

Where the mighty river flows.

Gold streamed along its edges

The center, woven in silver.
